Can anyone remember the article in the 1968 AWAKE! titled, "Neuralyzers: A Loving Provision From Jehovah"?
Of course you can't!
(A neuralyzer is a fictional gizmo from the movie "Men in Black" that erases memories.)

The Watchtower boys claimed to be directed by Jehovah's Holy Spirit. If Jehovah was the creator of all things and omniscient, why were his boys so wrong about these subjects? Does the Holy Spirit speak with a lisp? Certainly Jehovah's Holy Spirit didn't know much.
We have a rag-tag bunch of window washers who looked down on worldly wisdom but were bilge-spouts when it came to information about the nature of the world we live in.
Another, more recent, example is in regard to their statements about lecithin and where it is sourced from by the food industry. A few seconds of reading in the New York Public Library would have provided the Watchtower with accurate facts about industrial sources of lecithin, but it suited their agenda to invent false facts that fit their "Rainbow Covenant" anti-blood doctrine.
Today's Watchtower leadership is worse than the goofiest writer for The Golden Age. Today they openly, boldly, blatantly, instruct their flock to ignore their own common sense and obey Watchtower dictates because doing so will give them everlasting life.
The skeletons in The Watchtower's closet glow in the dark.

hi .
who do you think are the best historian/historians about the history of jehovahs witnesses?.
paul.
I want to thank Vienne for bringing Alan Whitby’s three important works,
“Grave Matters” (about the Watchtower cemetery)
“The Ross Libel Trial: The history of a 1913 legal case” (includes transcripts)
and “The Hudson Davidson Debate (1896) (The first known debate involving a Watchtower representative.)”
All three titles are available on LULU.COM.
I am looking forward to enjoying my copies.
how many of you here remember 1975?
i hope the newer generations never forget.the true believers got shamed for it.
those who were hedging their bets, fared much better.
I turned 18 in 1967.
Having the foreknowledge that "this wicked old system of things" was going to be removed from the Earth in 1975 gave me the motivation I needed to spend 100 hours a month in the life-saving door-to-door ministry, which is why today I am living in Paradise, enjoying Jehovah's 24/7/365 free lunch and dwelling in a house I did not build that was previously occupied by a Satanic Evildoer who was consumed by antimatter.
You could have been like me, but you weren't.

I have to admit that Harrison's Vision's of Glory is significant to my wifend I because we, like Barbara, were New Yorkers, and her book came along at "the right time" for us. We felt a kinship with her, and I was able to talk with her in person shortly before she died. So it is an emotional link, not rational.

They haven't published a book (yet) but Paul and Jeff at the YouTube channel Watchtower History certainly deserve to be included in this group.
Other I would add would be William "Watchtower Slave" Schnell,
Tony "A People for His Name" Wills,
Barbara "Visions of Glory" Grizzuti Harrison,
and as minor illuminaries (in my opinion),
Jerry "The Mental Health of Jehovah's Witnesses" Bergman
Duane "www.witnessinc.com" Magnani
At the time of this writing I do not know if Mssrs. Bergman and Magnani are still active.

Let us review a bit of human psychology: Pareidolia is the name given to the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none.
Example of this would be seeing images in clouds or in the grain of a slab of wood.
No one "put" those perceived images in the sky or in the wood.
When we examine the intentional work of other humans, like these illustrations, it is impossible to know if the images we perceive are intentional or circumstantial unless we interview the person who produced the work.

Yeah, Simon Peter whacked the servant upside the head with a scroll...
